Autodesk ReCap Pro 2023 version is the latest global entertainment, natural resources, manufacturing, engineering, construction and civil infrastructure 3D design software brought by Autodesk, using reality capture software and services used in conjunction with Autodesk design and creation suites , capture and integrate reality data directly into your design process. The ReCap Pro2023 solution enables designers, engineers and builders to integrate reality capture data into their design and build process. Create accurate 3D models with reality capture, and use ReCap reality capture software to convert reality into 3D models or 2D graphics for further design. Autodesk ReCap Pro function introduction
The product originally started as Project Memento, Autodesk’s attempt to build a photogrammetry tool from the ground up. While Memento was still in beta, it was free and available for Mac and PC. While both offer cloud processing (still a unique feature), only the PC version offers local processing, relying on Nvdia GPU acceleration.
When the project launched in beta in early 2017, it was renamed ReMake, I wrote an in-depth review at the time, and was marketed as a standalone photogrammetry tool for capturing objects and small-scale environments. It offers a free version with up to 50 photos, which can cater for small objects (FYI: 3DF Zephyr (review) is currently the only photogrammetry solution that offers a free version up to 50 photos). If you want to load more photos (250 at the time), you can subscribe to ReMake Pro for $30 per month. But while this gives users unlimited local processing, cloud processing requires the purchase of cloud credits.
Unfortunately, ReMake had a short life as the Mac version was killed in March 2017 and Autodesk decided to discontinue ReMake overall in late 2017. Since December, the product has moved under the ReCap Pro subscription. This costs $40 per month or $350 per year. To accommodate this concept, ReCap Photo has new support for area photogrammetry capabilities.
In the end, ReCap Photo is still just an updated version of ReMake. You can now also launch Photo to 3D by selecting it in ReCap Pro, but it can be installed as a standalone application that can be launched independently.

Everyone from design professionals, engineers, and architects to digital artists, students, and hobbyists use Autodesk software to unlock their creativity and solve grand challenges. What’s New This update contains the following fixes:
- Launch ReCap Photo from “Photo to 3D” instead of opening recap.autodesk.com.
- Improved the experience of creating elevation tiles by calculating new tiles only when the OK button or the new preview button is clicked, rather than every time the value is changed.
- Improved creation of elevation slices by accurately reflecting the current state of the 3d point cloud with respect to deleted points, clipped points, area visibility, scan visibility, and current bounding box in new elevation slices.
- Improved visual indication of currently selected scan during registration.
- Improved object mesh creation workflow for projects containing structured and unstructured scans.
- Fixed the “Share your experience” dialog appearing every time the app was launched in some cases.
- Updated to latest ZFS SDK.
- Improved error handling related to importing ZFS files.
- Fixed importing certain E57 and PTX files resulting in blurry RealView and incomplete point cloud data.
- Fixed an issue with importing ReCap OEM LSPROJ files that contained project-level scan conversions that did not exist in individual FLS files.
- Fixed a crash related to registering and aligning with checkerboard targets.
- Fixed a crash related to loading plugins at program startup.
